Lady Braves Fall to #14 ranked Whitko

On Thursday night, the Lady Braves faced a strong opponent in Whitko (2A #14) and unfortunately came away with a loss, finishing the game at 34-64. In this matchup, Whitko excelled with their shooting, hitting twelve 3-pointers out of twenty-seven attempts, achieving a 44% success rate. In contrast, the Lady Braves managed five 3-pointers from twenty-two attempts, resulting in a 23% accuracy. The two-point field goal stats also favored Whitko, who converted ten out of twenty-seven attempts for 37%, while the Lady Braves shot six for twenty-one, or 29%. However, the Lady Braves showed strength in their free throw performance, completing seven out of ten attempts for 70%, compared to Whitko's eight for thirteen, which is 62%. In rebounding, the Lady Braves outperformed Whitko with a total of 33 rebounds to Whitko's 30. The Lady Braves secured twelve offensive rebounds, while Whitko had ten. Defensively, the Lady Braves recorded twenty-one rebounds to Whitko’s twenty. Leading the scoring for the Lady Braves was Ireland Kile, who tallied 23 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. Addie Maiben, Delaney Betzner, and Aubrey Stoll combined for 9 points, 9 rebounds, and 4 assists. Kasey Murry contributed 2 points along with 2 rebounds and 2 assists. Coming off the bench, Averie Maiben added 4 rebounds and 3 deflections, while Aubrey Kaiser recorded 5 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 steal. The Lady Braves will be back in action this Tuesday night (January 28) against Northwestern at 6:30 PM. Prior to the game, we will honor our two senior managers, Kiara Cox and Tessa Holland. Additionally, at halftime, we will introduce our 7th and 8th grade Lady Braves.
