Braves top Berries in four sets Varsity vs Logansport High School (3 - 1) Win The Braves downed the Logansport Berries Tuesday in the Berry Bowl, 25-17, 24-26, 25-20, 25-15. We move to 20-8 on the year with just one more match remaining in the regular season. Our JV had solid serving and defense to win in two sets 25-21, 25-11. We were in control of the match for the first set and a half before Logansport clawed and scrapped their way to 24 all in the second set. They took the last two points to even the match one set a piece. Our missed serves and reception errors allowed Logansport to gain momentum and confidence.We were able to gain our composure and take control to win the last two sets. Addie Maiben dug 29 balls up to lead the defense from the Libero position. Aubrey Kaiser had 21 digs and Averie Maiben added 20 digs for the Braves. Setter Delaney Betzner tallied 18 assists with Averie Maiben adding nine assists from the other setter spot. Outside Hitter Kasey Murry downed 11 kills and MB Ireland Kile had eight kills and a block. Nekane Hernandez had six kills and Sanne Vermeer terminated five balls. Kile led the team in service aces with four, as well as leading the team in service errors. We wrap up the regular season this Thursday at Tipton. We will then prepare for sectional play as we host sectional 23 this year. We will play the second match on Thursday, October 16th against Northwestern.
